Selected from the Junge Reben or ‘Young Vines’ this Pinot Noir has its own elegant individuality. Rainer Schnaitmann – articulate, intelligent, caring, passionate, detailed – but given that he originally studied architecture and is interested in music and art, perhaps these traits are not surprising. What is surprising is that he took over his family’s 500 year old vine growing tradition and set up his eponymous Estate in 1997 having converted his grandparents house and within just 8 years he had been invited to join the VDP. His quest for quality is unceasing and all 21.6 hectares are currently under conversion to organic farming with certification expected in 2016.
