Delivery & Returns Policies
Delivery is by ourselves locally or our usual couriers who will require a signature for the delivery, the signatory must be 18 years or older.
A delivery charge of £6.90 will be made for orders of 12 bottles or more to one UK mainland address, orders of 6 bottles will be £9.99. Please see a list of the most frequently occurring postcodes for which we will have to make an additional charge.
We can only leave the delivery unsigned for, for example in a shed or garage, if specific instructions are given at the time of ordering. Our liability in this case ends at the point of agreed delivery, we cannot be held responsible for ‘unattended’ wine going missing after delivery.
We can arrange for delivery to a different address from the card holder’s address if this is more convenient for a signature, for example your place of work.
An order may also be collected from the shop if this is specified at the time of ordering in the special delivery instructions section at checkout. Please call ahead to confirm the shop’s opening hours on 01628 819027 and to ensure the box has been brought through to the shop ready for collection.
If the courier attempts delivery and leaves a card to arrange redelivery or collection from a depot and the goods are not collected within the specified time and are returned to Old Butcher’s Wine Cellar, a redelivery fee will be charged.
We shall not be liable for any delay in delivering your wine if that delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond our control such as, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, fire, flood, storm or Act of God, failure of ISP or telecommunications provider in connection with the performance of this Agreement.
We are only able to deliver to central UK mainland postcodes. We are unable to ship overseas due to the high level of potential breakages and prohibitive transport costs. We are unable to deliver to Northern Ireland.
We will provide a full refund or replacement for any wines that are faulty or for any product that is received broken. This does not affect your statutory rights. We may require faulty or broken bottles to be returned to us for inspection. Reasonable costs incurred will be credited.
Please note, breakages must be reported to us within 24 hours of delivery.
Should you wish to return a product for any of these reasons, first email us within 14 days of receipt of your order to discuss the issue and make the necessary arrangements. The sooner you let us know, the quicker we can resolve any issue.
Your order will be delivered to you unless written cancellation has been received by Old Butcher’s Wine Cellar, before the order is dispatched. To cancel your order, please do so in writing by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org, you have up to 14 days following delivery to cancel your order in which case all charges will be refunded to your card within 30 days of the goods returning to us in a merchantable condition and in the original box and packaging that you received the goods.
The full cost of returning the goods will be borne by the client in the case of cancellation of an order. Our delivery cost to you is subsidized by ourselves and in order to keep our prices competitive this cannot be borne for any items returning other than those which are faulty.
All returns, either due to breakage or cancellation of an order, shall be arranged by a carrier of Old Butcher’s Wine Cellar’s choice and will usually be the same carrier as that which made the original delivery. We will be most happy to let you know the cost from our carrier before you return the goods to us.
We will charge you the direct costs of recovery if you do not comply or if you return them at our expense. Please return all goods to our trading address shown below.
The returns and cancellations policies above listed do not affect your statutory rights.
Once the goods have been received and checked all refunds will be made within 30 days.
