The few orangey tinges on the disc show that development has started on this Château Mazeyres 2007. The red hue is still vivid elsewhere, revealing a few years of ageing. Averagely intense, the nose unveils delicate aromas of prunes, Kirsch and dried bark. On the palate, well-balanced sweetness on the first taste gives a marvellous impression of fineness. The tannin gives lovely depth to this wine, bringing some flavours of coffee and cocoa. The finish is moderately long, quite warm and delicately woody.
Merlot, Cabernet Franc
White meats, game birds, truffle oil omelettes.
