This beautiful Haut Médoc property dates back to the 11th century and had many illustrious guests including Francois 1er of France. The lead grape is Cabernet Sauvignon complemented by Cabernet Franc and Merlot and this is a beautiful wine with delicious palate. The 30 hectares of vineyards at Chateau Fontesteau are grown on a chalk based soil with gravel. The winemaker uses a combination of the most traditional methods whilst still embracing modern technology to get the best from the wine. This has further ageing potential too.
