Malborough – New Zealand
Golden straw in colour, these Chardonnay grapes are harvested from a single vineyard. The toasty aromas from the partial malolactic fermentation mingle with butterscotch notes, ripe apricot and vanilla. The palate is concentrated and full showing rich flavours of pineapple and honey, and ending with a lingering aniseed twist. Very Burgundian in character described in ‘The Wine Merchant Top 100 Wines’ as having ‘a ripe nose of sherbet, a nutty palate, good length and texture and lots of character’.
