A complex Sauvignon Blanc from the the prestigious White Wine area of Rueda
Martúe have a small vineyard, Blanco Nieva, planted with just 6 hectares of Sauvingon Blanc. The vines imported from France are very well adapted to the soil and climate conditions of Rueda. The altitude of the vineyard above 850m and the sandy, pebble filled soil, make the grape express its whole character in this wine. The typically extreme climate is characterised by crisp, cold winters, hot summers days and cool, fresh summer nights, producing perfect conditions for the production of fine white grapes.
A lack of rain and moderate summer temperatures resulted in the 2020 vintage’s low yield. This resulted in incredibly high quality grapes with intense aromas and flavour, without neglecting the character and freshness of this grape variety. After its manual harvest the must ferments at low temperature to maintain all its fruit and mineral power. Cold maceration during the pressing process help to preserve the aromas of the grape while prolonged fermentation at low temperatures enhance the Sauvignon characteristics.
The wine is subtle, pale yellow in colour with elegant aromatic intensity of fine herbaceous aromas. Gentle on the palate with hints of fruits and flowers subtly developing with elegant silkiness, freshness, minerality and long finish. This white wine is totally sublime, sophisticated and delicious.
