The nose is rich with red fruited jam, raspberry, vanilla and tobacco leaves. The palate is beautifully velvety and supple supporting the rich fruits. This perfect Claret combination of Merlot and Cabernet provides ripe and full redcurrant fruits and just a touch of thyme. Drinking well now this wine will show further maturity up to 10 years from now but the soft tannins enable it to show very well now.
Château Clarke, purchased by Baron Edmond de Rothschild in 1973 and replanted with a majority of Merlot grapes to suit its situation the vineyard and wines have thrived ever since.
